Local Power & Housing Justice: Policy Toolkit for Local Electeds in Florida

Everyone deserves a safe and sustainable place to call home. Unfortunately, this last legislative session, the Florida State Legislature made it increasingly difficult for us to make this goal a reality. Despite the unprecedented housing crisis Floridians are experiencing across the state, the Florida State Legislature passed two housing preemption bills – SB 102 & HB 1417 – during the 2023 legislative session.

The mission of the Macon-Bibb Equity Hub is to empower the Macon-Bibb community by promoting equity and social justice. The mission extends beyond information sharing, as the Equity Hub strives to be an inclusive educational resource, fostering a deeper understanding of equity and race on local, state, national, and global levels. Ultimately, the mission is to create a community where everyone has equal opportunities and access to resources, contributing to a more just and equitable society in Macon-Bibb.
